East Coast Sailing Schools

The East Coast from the Wash to the Medway offers diverse sailing opportunities through established training centres and yacht clubs. East Anglian Sea School has set the standard for training excellence on the East Coast for over 40 years, providing comprehensive RYA courses from beginner to advanced levels along this maritime corridor.

Norfolk sailing offers delights for less experienced sailors with expert help available, while Kent boasts multiple training centres including Elite Sailing and Excel Yachting, which offers RYA training courses in London and Kent with expert shorebased tuition following the recommended RYA syllabus.

The region's sailing schools benefit from varied conditions, from Norfolk's tidal waters and rivers to Kent's challenging Medway estuary. Many centres offer both practical and theory courses, with RYA training courses and qualifications recognised and respected worldwide, with more than 2400 recognised training centres across 58 countries.

Family-run establishments like Shearwater Sailing School emphasise friendly, quality training experiences, while educational programmes aboard traditional vessels like the Thames Sailing Barge Thalatta provide unique learning opportunities for school groups exploring coastal waters.
